They are accompanied by Proms in the Park favourites the BBC Concert Orchestra conducted by Martin Yates, together with the winner of the BBC Radio 2 Kiri Prize - the station's nationwide hunt to find a new opera star. Gareth Malone leads the audience sing-alongs.
The party gets under way with presenter Ken Bruce and artists including Björn Again, Nell Bryden, the Cast of Jersey Boys and Serpentine Fire.
